Shirley C. Kick, 75, Head Cashier

Mrs. Kick was born June 16, 1928 in Portland, Maine and has lived in Avon Lake since 1942.

Mrs. Kick had worked for many years as the head cashier at Kroger Supermarkets in both Bay Village and Sheffield Lake. She was a life member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the American Legion, Portland, Maine. She enjoyed fishing, vacationing in Canada, as well as bowling and golf.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Kenneth R. Kick; son, Raymond Carr of Treadway TN; step-son, Wayne Kick of Avon Lake; sister, Nancy Canalas of CA; two grandchildren, Kristen and Kevin and a great grandson, Nicholas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Bates and a step-son Kenneth R. Kick, Jr.

Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. (only) Sunday, August 3, 2003 at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon Belden Road, Avon Lake. Funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 4 p.m. Pastor Jamie Stewart of the Avon Lake Baptist Church will officiate.
