James A. "Jamie" McLaughlin, 30, Enjoyed Helping People

James A. “Jamie” McLaughlin, 30, of Lorain, died Wednesday, August 13, 2003 at his home after a sudden illness.

He was born December 14, 1972 in Bay Village and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

Mr. McLaughlin attended Southview High School in Lorain and enjoyed being around his family and helping people.

He is survived by his twin children, Brandon McLaughlin and Brittany McLaughlin of Cleveland, son, Jacob Steele of Cleveland; stepfather and mother Mike and Debra Mielcarek of Lorain; brother Bobby McLaughlin of Lorain; stepsister Lisa Mielcarek of Lorain; stepbrother Michael Mielcarek of Lorain; maternal grandmother Janice McLaughlin of Lorain; aunts Cindy Falish of Lorain and Marilyn Kutzely of Howard, Ohio and uncles Bruce McLaughlin of Las Vegas, Nevada and Brian McLaughlin of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Arnold McLaughlin in 1999.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 16, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Gluvna Shimo Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel. The Rev. Wallace Justice, pastor of Christian Life Church in Lorain will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery in Avon.
