Ruth Marcum, 77, Vermilion resident since 1961

Ruth Marcum (nee Collins), age 77, of Vermilion, died Tuesday, August 19, 2003 at her home after a lengthy illness.

She was born on July 21, 1926 in Trosper, KY and has been a Vermilion resident since 1961.

She was a member of the Free Pentecostal Church of God in South Amherst.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Reba Chappellow of Wilmington, OH, and Patty Marsh of Bedford, KY; 2 sons, Willie Marcum of Birmingham, OH, and Douglas Marcum of Vermilion, OH; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Jewell Lee of Ft.Wright, KY, Blois rice of Trosper, KY, Havanna Butler of Trosper, KY, and Vera Moore of Coshocton, OH; 4 Brothers, Langley Collins of Kipton, OH, Loxley Collins of Norwalk, OH, James Collins of Nashville, TN and Herman Collins of Vermilion.

She was preceded-in-death by her husband, Ambers Marcum in 1984; parents, Wayne and Dora Patsy (nee Lawson) Collins; 2 daughters, Gloria and Sherry Marcum; son, Daryl Marcum; 2 grandchildren, Bruce Marcum and Gloria Sturdivant.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 20, 2003 from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday, August 21, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.

Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home on Friday, August 22, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
