Rudolph L. Pogacsnik, 81, WWII Veteran, enjoyed flea markets

Rudolph L. Pogacsnik, age 81, of LaGrange Township passed away Sunday, August 24, 2003 at Allen Medical Center in Oberlin after a two-year illness.

He was born Thursday, November 3, 1921 in Cleveland and lived in LaGrange most of his life. Mr. Pogacsnik was a veteran of WWII in the U.S. Army serving as a driver mainly in England. He was employed by General Motors in Cleveland as a tool & die maker for 30 years before retiring in 1970. He enjoyed reading, traveling, and loved auctions and Flea Markets.

He is survived by his wife Iris, whom he was married to for 56 year, a daughter Susan Lawlor of Cleveland, Ohio, two sons, Dan Pogacsnik of Wakeman, Ohio and Timothy Pogacsnik of LaGrange, Ohio, and a granddaughter Amber Pogacsnik of Spencer, and his brother Alfred Pogacsnik of Fairview Park, Ohio. He is proceeded in death by his parents Leupold and Rosa Pogacsnik.

Graveside services were held in River Road Cemetery in LaGrange Township on Wednesday with Rev. Raymond Ake pastor of LaGrange United Methodist Church officiating. The Blackburn Funeral Home, 1021 Main St. Grafton was in Charge of handling arrangements.
