Anna R. Fischer, 94, Devoted mother and an avid reader

Anna R. Fischer (nee Futo), 94 of Avon died Friday, August 29, 2003 in Avon Oaks Nursing Home, Avon following a brief illness.

She was born March 6, 1909 in Lorain. She was a Life long Lorain county resident.

She was a Member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township.

She was totally devoted to her children. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and puzzles. She was an avid reader.

Among the survivors are her daughters June Kimbrough of Lorain, Marian Cordy of Bellaire, Ohio E. Shirley Nunez of Wakeman, Ohio, Nancy Dubesa of Grafton Township and Loretta Hoyt of Geneva, New York, brothers Jesse Futo of Spokane, Washington, Joseph Futo of Medina, Ohio and Frank Futo of Elyria, sister Marian Johnson of Sheffield Township, Ohio, 20 Grandchildren and 27 Great Grandchildren and three Great Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank A. Fischer in 1965, son Frank S. Fischer, parents Joseph and Magdalene Futo, sisters: Elizabeth Todi, Helen Fisher, Katharine Young and Dorothy Sotello and an infant brother.

Friends may call Tuesday, September 2, 2003 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, Lorain, Ohio.

Funeral service will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by 10:00 a.m. mass at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, 41295 North Ridge Road, Elyria Township. The Reverend Gaetano Menegatto will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
