Helen Dolores Pompei, 87, Lorain Resident for 70 Years

She was born June 3, 1916 in Union Town, Pennsylvania and had resided in Florida for the past 7 years moving from Lorain where she had lived for 70 years.

Mrs. Pompei worked in the cafeteria at St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain. She was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter in Lorain.

She is survived by her daughter Donna Greeley of Denver, Colorado; sons; Bob Pompei of Mansfield and Dick (Betty) Pompei of Sun City Center, Florida, brother John Ricco of Elyria, brother-in-law Rocco Proia of Lorain; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John Rudolph Pompei in 1956, brother Benny Ricco and sisters Rosie and Letitia Pacetti.

Friends may call Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada funeral chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Kenneth Wolnowski, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
