Mary Jane Miller, 89, Enjoyed photography and flower gardening
Mary Jane Miller (nee Murray), 89 of Elyria, passed away, Saturday, August 30, 2003 at the Life Care Center, Elyria, following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Miller, known as Jane, was born August 8, 1914 in Amherst and had lived in Lorain before coming to Elyria in 1953.Mrs. Miller was a graduate of Marion L. Steele High School, Amherst. She was a member of the Eastern Star while living at the Abbewood; she was active in arts and crafts. She enjoyed photography and flower gardening.
She is survived by four daughters: Sherrill Smith (Thomas) of Moneta, Virginia, Sandra Thimke (Robert) of North Ridgeville, Connie McMurray of Miami, Deborah L. Gentry (Charles) of Louisville, Kentucky, three sons: Thomas C. Miller (Susie) of Elyria, Jerome R. Miller of Lorain and Michael R. Miller (LeeAnne) of Elyria. Other survivors include many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and two sisters, Ada Justen and Beverly Leonard both of South Amherst.
Besides her husband of 52 years, Clyde R. Miller, whom passed away in 1992, she is preceded in death by her parents, John B. and Maude (Plato) Murray, two brothers, John and Tommy Murray, and two sisters, Patricia Lunn and Pearl Buell.
Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at the Busch-Curtis-Scheuffler Family Chapel, 114 Second Street, Elyria. All services will be at the funeral home, Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
