Clifford J. Simons Sr., 67, Enjoyed watching the Browns
Clifford J. Simons, Sr., 67 of Sheffield Lake died on Friday, September 5, 2003 at New Life Hospice Center at St. Joseph in Lorain, Ohio following a long illness.Mr. Simons was born on August 3, 1936 in Mt. Clair, West Virginia. He graduated from Lost Creek High School near Mt. Clair, then moved to Lorain area in 1966. He retired from US Steel in 1983 as a rolling mill foreman after 17 years service. He enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns and watching professional basketball.
He is a member of the Grace Baptist Church and the United Steel Worker's Union.
Mr. Simons is survived by his wife Nela A. (nee Elza) Simons to whom he was married on March 19, 1960, and his son, Clifford J. Simons Jr. of Elyria. He is preceded in death by his son Steven J. Simons on December 16, 1990, and his mother Marguerite Trader.
Friends may call at Schwartz Spence Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio on Monday, September 8, 2003 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on September 9, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. in Grace Baptist Church, Lorain, OH, with Rev. Jay Roller, pastor officiating. Clifford J. Simons will be buried at Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Amherst Township, Ohio.
