Richard J. Thomas Jr., 51, Collected Beatles memorabilia
Richard J. "Rick" Thomas Jr., age 51, of Lorain died on Friday, September 5, 2003 at his residence following a sudden illness.He was born on July 14, 1952 in Lorain; Mr. Thomas had lived in Lorain for his entire life. He was a 1970 graduate of the Lorain High School. He had been employed at the former American Crucival Company in Lorain for 10 years and then was employed at Metokote Corporation in Avon for a number of years.
He was a collector of baseball cards and was also an avid collector of "Beatles" memorabilia. He had coached youth football and baseball in the Lorain area.
He is survived by his son, Richard J. Thomas, III of Lorain, three daughters: Kara Thomas, Julia Thomas, and Jacqui Thomas, all of Lorain, four grandchildren, maternal grandmother Dorothy Staehli of North Ridgeville, a brother Terrence Thomas of Lorain and sister Sherri Rounds of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard J. and Marylou (nee Mezatasta) Thomas, Sr., and a granddaughter, Alexandria.
Services for Mr. Thomas were held privately in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain.
