Margaret T. Bacer, 94, Made homemade noodles, enjoyed knitting

Margaret T. Bacer, (nee Urban), age 94, of Amherst, and formerly of Lorain, died Tuesday, September 9, 2003 at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Bacer was born March 21, 1909 in Lorain and had been a resident of Amherst for the past forty years.

She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst as well as a member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Society and St. Ann's Auxiliary of St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in Lorain.

Her hobbies included making homemade noodles and knitting.

Margaret is survived by grandchildren: Victoria J. "Vicki" Nipple of Avon, Laurie A. Lewis of Pickerington, Ohio, Robert T. "Bob" Toman of Cleveland, and Sheryl A. "Sheri" McCall, John J. Jack" Toman, and Richard D. "Rick" Toman all of Amherst, 12 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren, as well as a sister Miriam Farkas residing in Westlake.

She was preceded in death by her husband John in 1975, her daughter Shirley Toman in 1979, her parents, Nicholas and Elizabeth (nee Bajusz) Urban, brothers: Anthony and Nicholas Urban, sisters: Elizabeth Pekarik, Theresa Szabo, Anna Harasty, Irene Chesney, and Lillian Urban.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 11, 2003 from 4-8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain where a rosary will be recited by officers and members of both the Blessed Virgin Mary Society and St. Ann's Auxiliary at 4:30 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday beginning at 8:45 a.m. in the funeral chapel wand will be followed by her funeral mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst. The Reverend Lawrence Martello, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
