Aura Lee Johnson, 65
Aura Lee Johnson (nee Laux), age 65, of Vermilion, died Friday, September 19, 2003 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain, following a three year illness.
She was born on June 4, 1938 in Lorain and has lived in Vermilion most of her life.
Mrs. Johnson worked as a secretary for the Birmingham United Methodist Church and also for the South Shore Packing Company in Vermilion. She was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregational Church in Vermilion.
Survivors in clued her husband of 43 years, Joseph “Jack” Johnson, daughter, Constance Greiner of Lorain, son, Lysle Johnson of Vermilion, three grandchildren, and her brother Robert Laux of Tiffin.
Preceding her in death were her parents, George and Evelyn (nee Bacon) Laux.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 22, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at the United Church of Christ Congregational, 990 State Street, Vermilion. The Reverend Wendell Brooker, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Brownhelm Cemetery, Vermilion.
