David E. Kardos, 65, Enjoyed boating, golf, and gardening

David E. Kardos, 65, of Amherst, formerly of Lorain, passed away, Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at his home following a short illness. Mr. Kardos was born, March 8, 1938 in Lorain and had lived in Amherst for the past 35 years.

Mr. Kardos worked as a Claims Adjustor for State Farm Insurance Company for 30 years, retiring in 1997. He was a 1956 graduate of St. Mary High School, Lorain and attended Bowling Green State University. He served in the US Army from 1959-1960 as a communications specialist stationed in Germany.

Mr. Kardos was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Amherst. He delivered Meals on Wheels in Amherst. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed boating, golf, and gardening. He played piano and was described by his family and a good cook.

Mr. Kardos is survived by his wife of 42 yeas, Carol A. (nee DiNunzio), his son Scott D. Kardos (Mary Ann) of Grafton and his daughter Jill S. Gervace (Michael) of Twinsburg. Other survivors include four grandsons: Joseph, Matthew, Owen, and Evan, and sister Judy Davis of Middleburg Heights.

All services by Rev. Matt Darrin of Church United Methodist Church, Lorain and Military Honors by VFW Post 9871 at Resthaven Memory Gardens are private. Memorials may be forwarded to Christ United Methodist Church, 3015 Meister Road, Lorain 44053. Arrangements are by the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, Avon Lake.
