William Johnson, Jr., 81, Veteran
William Mark Johnson, Jr., 81, of Vermillion, died Wednesday, September 24, 2003 in New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph following a lengthy illness.He was born February 19, 1922 in Cleveland and has lived in Vermillion for over 50 years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II.
He retired from the Ford Motor Company in Lorain where he worked in the paint department.
Survivors include his wife of over 50 years, Caroline (nee Persinger) Johnson; daughter Dawn Johnson of Langsville, OH; sons, William M. Johnson Ш and Todd Johnson, both of Vermillion; 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; sisters, Evelyn and Marguerite.
Preceding him in death were his parents William Mark, Sr., and Jessie Johnson, a son and a brother.
A Service Remembrance will be held on Monday, September 29, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the United Church of Christ Congregational, 990 State Street in Vermillion. Pastor Wendell Brooker will officiate.
