Geraldine Mitchell, 87, Enjoyed crocheting

Geraldine M. Mitchell (nee Kinney), 87, of Lorain, died Thursday, September 25, 2003 at her home after a lengthy illness.

She was born November 11, 1915 in Washington, Pennsylvania and had resided in Lorain since 1942.

Mrs. Mitchell worked at General Motors in Elyria and Parma as a painter and assembler for 25 years retiring in 1973. She enjoyed crocheting, her grandchildren, and her dog.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, John F. Mitchell of Lorain; daughter Eileen Mitchell of Lorain; granddaughters Loretta Rosanito and Deanie Shukait, both of Lorain, grandsons John Born and Douglas Born, both of Sheffield Lake and Quinet "Mitch" Mitchell of Lorain; 12 great grandchildren; sister Carol Smith of Nashville, Tennessee and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her infant son John F. Mitchell, parents Eugene and Katherine (nee Scott) Kinney; sister Emma Thompson and brothers Eugene And George Kinney.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 8 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Darlene Robinson, pastor of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Lorain will officiate. Burial will be held Saturday at Washington Cemetery in Washington, Pennsylvania.
