Catherine Radovich, 87, Bingo enthusiast

Catherine Radovich (nee Gappen), 87, of Amherst, and formerly of Lorain, died Monday September 29, 2003 at the Kingston of Vermilion following an extended illness. Mrs. Radovich was born July 9, 1916 in Campbell, Ohio and had been a resident of Lorain County since 1969 coming from Youngstown.

She was a member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church of Lorain and a former Member of the Serbian Sisters. While residing in Youngstown, she was the director of a adult foster care facility which was operated out of her home.

She was a bingo enthusiast.

She is survived by her daughter; Mrs. Gust (Sandra) Stamatis of Amherst Township, two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Mike (Milosh) Radovich; her parents, Joesph and Lucy (nee Putnikovich) Gappen, step-father, Mike Dragovich; brothers, Paul and Nick; sister, Mildred Metikosh, and half-sisters, Dorothy Dragovich, Jennie Dragovich, and Annie Ljubanovich.

Visitation will be Wednesday form 6 to 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Milorad Orlich, pastor of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, in Lorain.

The family suggests memorials in her memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
