Janetta Lois McNamee, 75, Enjoyed Working With Genealogy

She was born Wednesday, May 9, 1928 in LaGrange and lived through her high school years. She attended Ashland College when she first joined the Catholic Church and was confirmed in Immaculate Conception Church by Fr. P.J. Ferron.

Mrs. McNamee enjoyed playing the organ in Immaculate Conception Church for the Saturday afternoon mass for the last four years. She started playing the piano at the age of eight.

She served in the U.S. Air force in the late 1940's and was instrumental in organizing the Women's Air Force band stationed at Lowery Air Force Base. There she met her husband to be in 1950; they were then transferred to Kelly Air Force Base and married in 1951. The couple recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in February 2001.

She enjoyed working with genealogy and her husband compiling over 37,000 names of relatives, some dating back to the 9th century. She is a member of C.A.G.G., (Cleveland Area Genealogy Group).

She is survived by her husband Walter married 52 yrs, 1 daughter Jeannine Poelcher of Sanford, FL, 4 Sons Michael McNamme of Severn, MD, Martin McNamee of Temple Hills, FL, Steven McNamee of Grafton, OH, John McNamee of Shady Side, FL, 5 grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren, 2 Brothers Kenneth Linden of MI, and Phil Linden of LaGrange, OH, 1 sister Carol Conrad of LaGrange, OH.

She is proceeded in death by her parents John & Rosalia Linden, 2 daughters, Mary Jane & Rosalia, 3 Brothers Donald, Stanley, & Calvin, 1sister Barbara and an adopted sister Mary Ann.

Friends may call in the Blackburn Funeral Home 1021 Main Street, Grafton on Sunday, October 5, 2003 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm with a funeral mass in Immaculate Conception Church, 708 Eire Street, Grafton at 10:00 am with Fr. John Seabold pastor officiating.
