Della Namy, 86, Homemaker, fan of horse racing
Della Namy (nee Lynch), 86 years of age, and a resident of Elyria, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2003 at New Life Hospice Residential Center, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.She was born November 18, 1916 in Cleveland where she was raised and graduated from Jane Adams High School. She has made Warrensville Heights and Walton Hills, Ohio her home for most of her life. She has been a resident of Elyria for the last three years.
Della was a homemaker and mother and enjoyed collectibles and was a fan of horse racing.
Survivors include her son Jerry Namy of Fort Worth, Texas, her daughters Patricia Miller of Hampton, Virginia and Laurine Crowther of Elyria, fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and her sister Ann Phelan of Middletown, New York.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Nicholas Namy in 1989, her daughter Barbara Leathers in 1968, and by her parents Frank and Alice Lynch (nee Sutkus)
Friends may call Friday, October 10, 2003 from 4-7 p.m. in the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Family and friends will be gathering Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Highland Road entrance of the All Saints Catholic Cemetery, 480 Highland Road, Northfield, Ohio for a graveside committal service. Her nephew, the Rev. Michael Namy, will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, 5255 North Abbe Road, Elyria 44035.
