Katherine A. Brletic, 89, Enjoyed crocheting and quilting

Katherine A. Brletic (nee Dominic), age 89, of Lorain, died Thursday October 9, 2003 at her residence following an extended illness.

Mrs. Brletic was born November 11, 1913 in Lorain and had been a life-long resident of the city.

A parishioner of Saint Vitus Croatian Catholic Church, she had formerly been employed as an assembler at the Western Automatic Company in Elyria and by the United Food Management Group working at U.S. Steel's Lorain Works.

Katherine was a member and former president of Saint Theresa's Guild at Saint Vitus Church and was also a member of the Owls Social Club, which held its regular meetings at Saint Ladislaus Catholic Church.

She was an accomplished cook who also enjoyed all forms of arts and crafts, crocheting and quilting.

She is survived by a son: James V. Brletic of Lorain, daughter: Evelyn A. Godwin of Cleveland, three grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Stephan J. Brletic in 1989, her parents: Anton and Helen (nee Brodic) Dominic, a brother: Victor, and three siblings in infancy.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel - 3224 Broadway - Lorain where a parish rosary will be recited by Father Simon Nekic at 4:30 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by her funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. in the Catholic Church of Saint Peter - 3501 Oberlin Avenue - Lorain. The Reverend David G. Woost, associate pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery - Lorain.
