Evalyn R. French, 92, Enjoyed bird watching and being outdoors
Evalyn Rhonda French, 92, of Vermilion, died Saturday, October 11, 2003 in Mill Manor Nursing Home, Vermilion after a lengthy illness.She was born January 29, 1911 in Vermilion, Ohio and has always lived in the Vermilion area.
Mrs. French graduated from Vermilion High School and Oberlin Business College. She worked as a teller for Erie County Bank, Vermilion and also worked at Wakefield Brass.
She was a member of Brownhelm Congregational Church, Brownhelm were she had served as a Deacon. She was a member of Eastern Star, Lake Erie Gem and Geological Association, and enjoyed bird watching, taking care of her pets, and spending time in the outdoors.
Survivors include daughter, Diane Chownyk of Fraser, Michigan, seven grandchildren, nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband Dudley French in September of 2003, parents John and Nina Winifred (nee Summers) Burrows, son John Dudley French and brother Lyle Burrows.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2003 at Brownhelm Cemetery, Vermilion with the Rev. Louis Bertoni, officiating.
