Mildred E. Mitchell, 91, Homemaker, enjoyed crossword puzzles
Mildred E. Mitchell, 91, of Avon, passed away Monday, October 13, 2003 at the Elyria United Methodist Village following a short illness.She was born July 9, 1912 in Lorain. She was a 1930 graduate of Avon High School and lived most of her life in Avon.
Mrs. Mitchell was a homemaker and a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, Elyria Township, and its Altar and Rosary Society. She also enjoyed crocheting and crossword puzzles.
Two daughters survive Mrs. Mitchell, Marilyn Koprica (Arnold) of Avon, and Virginia E. "Ginny" Deeks (Daniel) of Elyria; two sons, Larry Mitchell (Loretta) of Avon, and George R. Mitchell, Jr.(Del) of Perrysburg, OH; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George R Mitchell Sr.; a daughter Georgia Ann Grote; a son Thomas A. Mitchell; a grandson, Larry Mitchell, Jr.; two sisters, Lillian Hitchcock Niles and Mary Kutchin; and a brother, Clyde O. Walker.
Friends may call the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 32000 Detroit Rd. in Avon from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday where a Rosary service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Prayer services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, October 18 at 9:15 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Vincent De Paul Church, 41295 N.
