Olga L. "Ollie" Roden, 89, Enjoyed sewing, knitting and needlepoint

Olga L. “Ollie” Roden (nee Anderson), 89, of Avon Lake, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2003 at St. John & West Shore Hospital, Westlake following a sudden illness.

She was born August 2, 1914 in Cleveland and lived most of her life in Avon Lake. Ollie was a homemaker. She was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Avon Lake and Anna’s Circle at the Church; the Order of the Eastern Star and Lake Shore Women’s Club, Avon Lake. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and needlepoint.

Mrs. Roden is survived by her husband of 61 years, William, a son James Roden (Ruth) of Avon Lake and a daughter, Linda Roden of Cleveland, and a grandson Jarret Roden. She was preceded in death by her parents John A. and Frieda (nee Carlson) Anderson.

Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Belden Road, Avon Lake, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday. All services at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 32747 Lake Road, Avon Lake, Saturday, October 18, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Lynn Schlessman will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted. Family suggests memorial contributions be made to Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 32747 Lake Road, Avon Lake, Ohio 44012.
