Rosalina Zocchi, 95, Enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and sewing

Photo of Rosalina Zocchi Rosalita "Rosa" Zocchi, 95, of Lorain, died Wednesday, October 15, 2003 in Golden Acres Lorain County Home.

She was born on March 28, 1908 in Lorain, OH and lived in Italy until returning to Lorain at the age of 21.

During WW II, Rosa worked as a crane operator with Thew Shovel Co. She also worked as a seamstress for Agnes Kay and several other garment factories. She was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter in Lorain and was one of the founding members of its Congregation of the Sacred Heart. Rosa enjoyed gardening, especially growing roses, quilting, crocheting, and sewing.

Survivors include her daughters, Lillian Duray of Parma, OH, and Norma Capasso of Lorain; sisters, Edvidge Guthry of Avon Lake and Elvira Clark of California; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Guerino "Gerry" Zocchi; her parents, Antonio and Carmela (nee Zarlinga) Falasca; and brothers, Ernest and Armond Falasca.

Friends may call Friday, October 17, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue in Lorain. A Rosary service will be conducted at 2"30 p.m. by the congregation of the Sacred Heart.

Prayers will be said at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2003 followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at The Catholic Church of St. Peter. The Rev. Kenneth Wolnowski, Pastor, will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
