Robert E. French, 79, Ford retiree, fan of the Boston Red Socks

Mr. French was born on May 20, 1924, in Boston, Massachusetts and was a US Navy
Veteran. He served aboard the USS Lexington and the USS Saratoga in the South Pacific. He worked in the quality control department of Ford Motor Co., retiring in 1990 after 39 1/2 years service.
He was a member of the UAW 425 and the United Polish Club. He enjoyed
bowling, camping, silent movies, reading and was an avid Boston Red Socks Fan.
Mr. French is survived by his wife of 46 years Helen Marie (nee Bee) French,
three daughters, Melissa French of Dayton, Patti French of Massachusetts, and Nancy Pruitt of Lorain and 3 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Flesher in 1989, parents
Benjamin and Lillian (nee Chandler) French and his brother Charles French.
Funeral services were private at Schwartz Spence Boyer & Cool Home for
Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio, with Rev. Bill Shomo, chaplain of Hospice of the Western Reserve officiating.
Robert E. French was buried at Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Amherst
Township, Ohio.
