Bonnie Lue Cooksey, 79, Enjoyed quilting and cooking
Bonnie Lou Cooksey (nee Graham), 79, of Florence Township died Tuesday, October 21, 2003 in Norwalk Memorial Home after a lengthy illness.She was born on October 5, 1924 in Scottsville, KY. She was a 45 year resident of Florence Township, moving from Lorain.
She had worked as a cook at Brady’s Restaurant in Lorain and McGarvies Restaurant in Vermilion. Mrs. Cooksey was a member of Vermilion VFW Post #7576 Auxiliary. She enjoyed garage sales, quilting, and cooking.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard B. Cooksey, to whom she was married to for 54 years; 2 daughters: Beatrice Squire of Lansing, MI, and Barb Cooksey of Huron; 3 sons: Garland and Alven Cooksey of Huron, and Noah Cooksey of Englewood, CO; and 1 grandchild.
She was preceded in death by 2 children; sister Nemola Cornwell; and her parents.
Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home on Saturday, October 25, 2003 at 10 a.m. Kate Marcum, Minister of Kipton Community Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Vermilion.
