Mary E. Wilhelm, 54, Bakery Decorator, enjoyed knitting and crafts
Mary E. Wilhelm (nee Hall), 54, of Lorain died Tuesday, October 21, 2003 at University Hospital in Cleveland following a brief illness.She was born May 12, 1949 in Sandusky and had been a life-long resident of the Lorain/Amherst area.
She was a 1967 graduate of South Amherst High School. Mrs. Wilhelm worked in the bakery at Convenient Food Mart of Colorado Avenue in Lorain. At the same time, she worked for the Lorain City Schools in housekeeping and as a crossing guard. Later she worked in the bakery at the Giant Eagle stores in Amherst, Westlake, Sheffield Village, and North Olmstead. She baked and decorated cakes, cookies, and cupcakes. Mrs. Wilhelm was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lorain and Bakers Local #19 in Cleveland. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and baking.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, James Wilhelm of Lorain; daughter Angela Franklin of Lorain; son Andrew Wilhelm of Lorain; 2 grandchildren; sister, Mona Hall of Florida; brother, Mark Hall of Lorain; and several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Dorothy Hall (nee Barnhart).
Friends may call Friday 2-4 and 7-9 at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 603 Washington Ave., Lorain. The Reverend Jimmy Madsen, co-pastor, will officiate. Cremation will follow. The ashes will be buried at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township at a later date.
