Norma Ferner, 70, Worked at Lorain's Gray Drug and Big Boys
Norma Ferner, (nee Skidmore), age 70, of Lorain, died on Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, following a short illness.Born on July 6, 1933 in Gassaway, West Virginia, she lived in Lorain most of her life.
Norma was employed as a cashier at Gray Drug, Lorain for 9 years, retiring in 1985. Prior to this she was employed as a manager for 10 years at Big Boy Restaurant in Lorain.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Haines City, Florida.
She is survived by her son Mark Ferner of Lorain with home she made her home, daughter Sandy Hambly of Amherst, 2 step sons, Larry Ferner of Henrietta, New York and Ronnie Ferner of Napoleon, Ohio, 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, brother Dennis Skidmore of the Lake Alfred, Florida and sister Maida Davidson of South Amherst, numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Valloyd Ferner in 1997 and parents Buzzy Skidmore in 1971 and Ruby (nee Keaton) in 1988.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 31, 2003 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain and also on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Jay Roller, pastor of Grace Baptist Church, Lorain will officiate.
