Karen Hosier-Leatherwood, 48, Enjoyed being with family
Karen Ruth Hosier-Leatherwood, 48, of Lorain, formerly of Sheffield Lake, passed away, Wednesday, October 29, 2003 at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain following a one-year illness with cancer.Ms. Hosier-Leatherwood was born January 11, 1955 in Cleveland and had lived in Lorain the past 20 years.
Ms. Hosier-Leatherwood had worked for Marconi Lorain Products as a laborer for the past 12 years. She was a graduate of Brookside High School, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of AMVETS Post 55, Sheffield Lake. She enjoyed spending time with her family and most especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Michelle Nazario of Sheffield Lake and Jessica Leatherwood of Lorain, and son Andrew Stead, serving in the US Army in Italy. Other survives include four grandchildren, five brothers: Eugene Hosier (Gayle) of North Ridgeville, Dennis Hosier (Sara) of Phoenix, AZ, Brian Hosier of Amherst, Warren Hosier (Karen) of Sheffield Lake and Roger Hosier of Sheffield Lake and three sisters, Susan Clark (William) of Virginia Beach, VA, Lori Matson (Dennis) of Valley City and Kristie Hosier of Sheffield Lake. Many friends also survive her. She is preceded in death by her parents Kenneth O. and Dorthea A. (nee Nickel) Hosier.
Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Belden Road, Avon Lake, Friday, October 31, 2003 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. All services at the Funeral Home, Saturday, November 1, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Gary Georgi of Hope Lutheran Church, Sheffield Lake will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Garden.
