Veronica Polny, 79, Enjoyed reading and her grandchildren
Veronica Polny (nee Puskas), 79, of Columbus, formerly of Lorain, died on Friday, October 31, 2003 at Mt. Carmel St. Ann Hospital in Westerville following a lengthy illness.She was born January 10, 1924 in Lorain, OH, where she had lived until moving to Columbus in 2002. Mrs. Polny was a Licensed Practical Nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain for over 15 years. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lorain and enjoyed reading and her grandchildren.
Surviving her are her sons: Benjamin J. Polny, Jr. and Robert D. Polny of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Megan Ley, Nathan Polny, and Danielle Polny; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her busband of 44 years, Benjamin J. Polny, Sr.; parents, Nicholas and Julianna (nee Almojian) Puskas; sisters, Florence Grimben, Mary Kuzela, and Victoria Trbovich; brother, Nicholas Puskas; and 2 half-brothers in Europe.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., in Lorain where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. The Rev. William Schill, deacon of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
