Joan Rico, (nee Paynter), 68, of Lorain died on Saturday, November 1, 2003 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center in Lorain following a lengthy illness.She was born September 3, 1935 in St. Mary's, West Virginia. She moved to Lorain in 1945. Joan enjoyed watching soap operas, listening to country music, flowers and plants.
She is survived by her daughter: Lorie Jean Rico of Lorain; 3 grandsons; 5 great-grandchildren; sister: Mildred Paynter of Lorain; and a brother: Raymond Paynter of Sheffield Township.
She was preceded in death by her son: Roy James Hendershot in 2000; and a sister: Emma Torres in 2003.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 5, from 5-7 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home; 2701 Elyria Avenue in Lorain.
