Loretta D. Wargo, 85, Enjoyed writing poetry and working crosswords
Loretta D. Wargo (nee Teter), age 85, of Bucyrus, died Monday, November 3, 2003 at Bucyrus Community Hospital after a lengthy illness.Born May 30, 1918 in Massies Mill, Virginia, she was a resident of Lorain from 1925 until moving to Bucyrus in 1995. She also previously resided in West Virginia.
For several years she was employed as a secretary for the U.S. Army in the Panama Canal Zone, and also as a waitress at the former Brady’s Restaurant in Lorain.
Mrs. Wargo was a member of Grace Community Church in Grafton. Her interests included writing poetry and needlework, which she shared with family and friends, and she enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her daughter Juanita Leuthold of Bucyrus, 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter, brother Clarence Levi Teter and sister P. Ruther Miller, both of Warrant, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Wargo in 1983, son Walt Wargo in 1995, father Abraham Clarence Teter in 1959, and mother Phoebe Ann (nee Eye) Teter in 1963, sisters: Gwendolyn Teter, Kathleen Teter, Geraldine Teter, Virgie E. Newman, J. Gladys Street, and Janet Hope Royal, brothers Voil, Paul, Virgil, and Gerald Teter.
Friends may call Wednesday, November 5, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Ed Wishart, pastor of Grace Community Church in Grafton will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
