Julio C. Rodriguez, 78, A good cook and a caring man

Julio C. Rodriguez, 78, of Lorain, passed away, Friday, November 7, 2003 at his home following a lengthy illness. Mr. Rodriguez was born December 20, 1924 in San Louis Potoci, Mexico and has lived in Lorain since 1948.

Mr. Rodriguez worked for Lake Terminal Railroad as a trackman, from 1948 until his retirement in 1983. He was very proud becoming a United States Citizen in June 1984. He was a member of steelworkers Union #1104, Lorain. He enjoyed gardening and working around the house. He was described by his family as a good cook and a caring giving man, concerned more about others than him.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Patricia K. (nee Carver), whom he married February 14, 1987. Other survivors include two daughters: Eloisa Lopez (Joe) and Virginia Basualdua (Zeke) both of Olustee, Oklahoma, son Frank (Sandy) Rodriguez of Lorain, three step-sons: William J. Park, Jr. (Mary Kay) of Lorain, Dominic Richi, Jr., (Tonya) of Tampa, Florida and Joseph A. Richi (Crystal) of Lorain, two step-daughters Betty J. McKinney (Chad) or Lorain and Mickey Carver of Lorain. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and 12 brothers and sisters. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Guadelupe Garcia and parents Silverio and Luisa (nee Contreras) Rodriguez.

Friends may call at the Busch-Curtis-Scheuffler Family Chapel, 114 Second St. Elyria Monday, November 10, 2003 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be Monday, evening at the funeral home at 8:00 p.m. Rev. Mark Lantz of Broadway Assembly Church will officiate. Cremation by Busch Crematory. Memorials may be forwarded to Love Extended of Broadway Assembly Church, 5495 Broadway, Lorain 44052.
