Johanna Longoria, 89, Deli owner, enjoyed gardening and traveling

Johanna Longoria (nee Paul), 89, of Lorain, died on Sunday, November 9, 2003 at the Adult Day Care by Sandy home in Lorain after a lengthy illness.

She was born February 3, 1914 in Lorain and had been a lifelong resident of the area.

Mrs. Longoria was the owner/operator of Longoria's Delicatessen on E. 30th Street & Grove Avenue in Lorain from 1948 to 1974.

She was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Lorain and the church Altar & Rosary Society.
Mrs. Longoria enjoyed rose and vegetable gardening, casino gambling, and traveling.

She is survived by her daughters: Alice Kovacevich of Lorain, Lona Crnobrnja of Lorain, and Lucy Bangas of Vermilion; sons: Luis Longoria of Vindland, New Jersey, and Ronald Langoria of Westlake; 20 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and many great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Luis Longoria in 1983; daughter, Sissy Muskiewecz in 2002; parents, Florian and Johanna Paul (nee Popek); and brothers, Frank Paul, Florian Paul, and Joseph Paul.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3-8 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel; 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. in the Chapel followed by a funeral mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church; 2143 Homewood Drive, Lorain. The Reverend Thomas Smith, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
