Angeline Marie Tomsic, 93, Gifted Soprano, enjoyed playing cards
Angeline Marie Tomsic (nee Eisenhardt), 93, of Lorain died Tuesday, November 11, 2003 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center following a brief illness.She was born May 17, 1910 in Lorain and had been a lifelong resident.
Angelina attended the Lorain Public Schools and went on to graduate from Lorain Business College in 1928. She was employed for a number of years as a seamstress for the Weitz Clothiers and later by the Thew Division of Koerhing Company.
Mrs. Tomsic was a parishioner of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church where she was also a member of the Ladies Guild; she was a gifted soprano who had sung in the church choir for more than 70 years. She also served as an organist and soloist. She was extremely active in Slovenian fraternal affairs and had been a member and former officer of Immaculate Conception Lodge #85 of the K.S.K.J., Buckeye Lodge #60 of the A.M.L.A., and Zarja S.Z.Z. Lodge # 40.
She enjoyed playing cards and was particularly fond of the game Pinochle.
Survivors include her daughter: Shirley A. Toman of Lorain; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three step grandchildren, and three step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her 1st husband: Frank J. Tomsic in 1970; her 2nd husband: Joseph A. Tomsic in 1986; her father Anthony Eisenhardt in 1992, mother Josephine (nee Petric) Eisenhardt in 1961; a brother William Eisenhardt in 1992; and sisters: Josephine in infancy, Mildred Mullen in 1997, and Josephine Biddle in 2002.
Visitation will be Thursday from 3-7 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel; 3224 Broadway, in Lorain, where a parish rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Funeral Services will be Friday beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m. in Ss Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church; 1705 E. 31st Street in Lorain. The Rev. Paul Krajnik, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial to the charity of the donor’s choice.
