James F. Morgan, 53, Viet Nam Veteran, motorcycle enthusiast

Photo of James F. Morgan James F. "Jimi" Morgan, 53 of Lorain died on Tuesday, November 11, 2003 at Community Health Partners Hospital & Surgical Center in Lorain, Ohio following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Morgan was born on October 26, 1950 in Pittsburgh, PA and has lived in Lorain since 1952. He was a military policeman in the Army during the Viet Nam era. He received numerous awards and medals for Sharpshooter M-14, Marksman M-16 and two overseas service bars. He was a former crane operator at the US Steel/Kolbe Plant in Lorain and also had been a janitor at Lutheran Medical Hospital in Cleveland.

He was a motorcycle enthusiast and a member of the A.I.M. (Aid for Injured Motorcyclist). He also enjoyed cooking and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. He attended the Lakewood Church of The Nazarene.

Mr. Morgan is survived by his daughter, Jessica McKernan of Lakewood, one beloved grandson, Toby, his sisters June A. Gregg, Teri Lynne McKnight, Coni S. Younkin, Darlene M. Younkin all of Lorain, Cyndie L. Luster of Vermilion, brothers Rick C. McKnight, Jr. and Russ W. McKnight both of Lorain and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father James Clifford Morgan, his mother Elizabeth June (nee Trosky) and step-father Richard C. McKnight,Sr.

Friends may call at Schwartz Spence Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio on Thursday, November 13, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on November 14, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at Schwartz Spence Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals in Lorain, Ohio with Rev. Richard E. Gatlin, pastor of the Lakewood Church of the Nazarene officiating.

James F. Morgan will be buried at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio on Friday, November 14, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. with full military honors provided by the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery Honor Guard.

The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Lorain County, P.O. Box 1381, Elyria, Ohio 44035.
