Julia Betzel, 87, Enjoyed playing bingo
Julia Betzel (nee Dobis), age 87, of Lorain, died on Saturday, November 22, 2003 at Community Health Partners HSC, West, following short illness.She resided at Autumn Aegis Retirement Community, Lorain, for the past two years. Julia was born on August 15, 1916 in South Union, Pennsylvania.
Julia was a member of St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Lorain, and the Virgin Mary Society. She enjoyed playing bingo.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, George Betzel in 1990, sisters Elizabeth Shullick in 1994, Mary Ksiazk in 2001, brothers John Dobis in 1975 and Joseph Dobis in 1968.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 24, 2003 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. The Virgin Mary Society will pray the Rosary at 3:00 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home and 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. James P. Schmitz, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
