Blanche M. Gorman, 86, Enjoyed interior home improvement

Blanche M. Gorman (nee Hefler), age 86, of Lorain, died Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at the Ohio Extended Care Center following an extended illness.

Mrs. Gorman was born June 24, 1917 in Chelsea, Massachusetts and had been a resident of Lorain since 1958.

She was employed as a civilian welder at the Boston Navy Yard during World War II. After moving to Ohio, she was employed as a seasonal employee of several area electronics manufacturing companies.

A parishioner of the Catholic Church of St. Peter, she was also a member of the Salvation Army Keenagers Club. Her main interest was interior home improvement to which she devoted much time wallpapering and painting her house.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years: William F. Gorman; a son: Edward Spencer of Sandusky, Ohio; daughters: Carol Taylor of Pensacola, Florida, and Margaret Beegle of Albuquerque, New Mexico; eleven grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter: Joan Kerswell; grandchildren: Tommy and Joyce Tabolt; her parents: Frank and Alice Hefler; and by a sister: Nonnie Spellman.

Visitation will be on Friday from 2-5 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel; 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Reverend Kenneth Wolnowski, pastor of the Catholic Church of St. Peter, officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
