Everett O. Barnard, 90, Enjoyed fishing

Everett O. Barnard, 90, and a resident of Lorain, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at New Life Hospice Center, Lorain, following a three week illness.

He was born July 3, 1913 in Woodsfield, Ohio and raised in Plainview, Ohio. He made his home in Lorain for the past 51 years.

Everett worked for General Motors in Elyria from 1950 to 1958. He then worked for Ford Assembly Plant in Lorain, retiring in 1978 after 25 years as a masker for the paint shop. He was a member of Toledo Road Church of Christ, Lorain, where he served as an elder for 23 years. He enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years: Ruth E. (nee Agin); his son: Stanley Barnard, Sr. of Amherst Township; his daughter: Gail Clark of Elyria; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother: Charles Barnard; his sister Hazel Conley; and by his parents: Henry and Molly (nee Yost) Barnard.

Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Evangelists Bob Eddy and Jim Hiser, of Toledo Road Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
