Donald Charles Trinter, 80, Farmer and Dairyman

Photo of Donald Charles Trinter Donald Charles Trinter, 80, of Vermilion, died Sunday, November 30, 2003 at Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness.

Born September 9, 1923 in Cleveland, he has been a life long resident of Vermilion.

Mr. Trinter was a 1941 graduate of Vermilion High School. He was a farmer, dairyman and sold Pioneer Seeds.

He was a member of the Vermilion Evangelical and Reformed Church, Ely Masonic Lodge #424, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Cleveland, The Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Ohio, P.B. Morgan Chapter #233, Vermilion, and Singara Grotto, Sandusky, Ohio.

Donald was a former Vermilion Township Trustee, a member of the Vermilion Grange #2171, a member of the Soil and Water Conservation Board of Erie County, Lions Club of Vermilion, a former member of the East Erie Farm Bureau Council, and past president of the Erie County Farm Bureau Board of Trustees.

He retired from the Vermilion Fire Department with 25 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Eva Washburn Trinter (nee Jarrett); 2 daughters:
Carolyn Cull of Milan, and Ellen MacFarlane of Thiensville, Wisconsin; a stepdaughter: Wanita Schafer of Vermilion; 2 sons: Charles of Vermilion, and Russell of Gillette, Wyoming; 1 step-son: Loren Washburn of Vermilion; 9 grandchildren; and 4 step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his 1st wife: Ann Trinter (nee Novotny) in 1979; a brother: Paul in 1978; an infant granddaughter in 1992; and his parents: Elmer and Ruth Trinter (nee Decker).

Friends may call Thursday, December 4, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home; 5345 South Street, Vermilion. Ely Lodge #424 will conduct Masonic Services at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Vermilion Evangelical and Reformed Church, Grand at Ohio Street, Vermilion. The Reverend Doug Yost, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
