Bobby F. Huckeby, 70, US Army Veteran
Bobby F. Huckeby, age 70, of Lorain, died Monday, December 1, 2003 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center- West, following an extended illness.Born on April 24, 1933 in Harriman, Tennessee, he moved to Lorain 30 years ago.
Bobby served in the United States Army as a private 1st class during the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a utility worker at US Kobe Steel.
He was a member of the United Steel Worker’s Local #1104. He also enjoyed talking on the CB and radio control cars.
He is survived by his daughter: Roberta Huckeby; brothers: J.D. Huckeby of Vermilion, Ray Huckeby, and M.C. Huckeby, both of Omaha, Nebraska; a sister: Maxine Walker of Omaha, Nebraska; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Mack C. Huckeby and Haley Mae (nee Silcox) Huckeby.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 5, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Lakeview Baptist Church, Vermilion. The Reverend Guy Morton, pastor, will officiate. The Dovin Funeral Home; 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain is handling the arrangements.
