Joan Wolfe, 77, Enjoyed collecting cookbooks and reading
Joan Wolfe (nee Witt), age 77 and a resident of Vermilion, passed away on Monday, December 01, 2003 at Kingston of Vermilion following a brief illness.She was born September 26, 1926 and raised in South Amherst. She was a resident of Lorain for many years, before moving to Vermilion 21 years ago.
Prior to marriage, she worked as a beautician. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Lorain where she attended Ladies Bible Study. Joan was also a member of the woman’s auxiliary of the Vermilion V.F.W. She enjoyed collecting cookbooks and reading.
Survivors include her daughter: Sally Jo Clutter of Vermilion; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years: Clarence Wolfe, Jr. on August 26, 1983; by her parents: John Witt on October 24, 1978 and Esther Witt on January 27, 1980; and by her sister: Betty Mitchell on February 7, 1984.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 in the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. Jack Ison, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church in Lorain, will officiate. Burial will be in Brownhelm Cemetery, Vermilion.
