Esther Carreon, 66, Homemaker, enjoyed taking care of her family
Esther Carreon (nee Magdaleno), age 66, of Lorain, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at her residence, following a lengthy illness.A life long resident of Lorain, she was born February 6, 1937 in Lorain, and graduated from Lorain High School.
Esther retired in 1993 from Marconi Communication, Lorain, where she worked as a rail technician. She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain, and took great pleasure in homemaking and taking care of her children and grandchildren.
Surviving her are her sons: Christopher Carreon, of Lorain, Michael Carreon, of Spring, Texas, John Carreon of Valencia, California, and Martin Carreon, of Vermilion; daughters: Susan Carreon of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Amanda Thompson, of Elyria; 11 grandchildren; brothers: Herman, Robert, Angelo, and Manuel; sisters: Amparo Serrano, Cathleen Harsar, Angelina Elliot, Gloria Gallegos, Margaret Alvarez, and Mary Louise Sanchez.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Celestino in 1980; parents: Rosalio Magdaleno in 1988, and Dolores Magdaleno (nee Satelo) in 1980; a brother: Rosalio Magdaleno in 1958; and a sister: Dolores Ramirez in 1998.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home; 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Saturday at 7:45 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by mass at 8:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel; 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Reverend Fr. William Thaden, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
