Michael A. Trbovich, 88, World War II Army Veteran

Michael A. Trbovich, 88, of Lorain, died Wednesday December 3, 2003 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after an illness of cancer.

He was born November 5, 1915 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

Mr. Trbovich served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the 1286th Engineer Battalion.

He worked at U.S. Steel in Lorain as a supervisor in the Three Seamless Finishing Mill for 41 years retiring in 1978.

He played football and softball in the Czarnecki league and Lorain City league. He was an avid golfer and was recently featured in a Morning Journal article for shooting his first hole-in-one at the age of 88.

He is survived by his sons: Ronald Trbovich of Vermilion and Tyrone Trbovich of California, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Victoria Trbovich (nee Puskas) on August 26, 2002 and parents Mijo and Sylvia Trbovich (nee Cej).

The family will receive friends Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. The Rev. Milorad Orlich, pastor of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church of Lorain, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
