Samira Sheety, 83, Enjoyed cooking
Mrs. Samira Sheety, age 83, of Lorain, died Sunday December 7, 2003 at her residence under the care of New Life Hospice after a brief illness.She was born on June 20, 1920 in Haifa, Palestine, and settled in New York in 1978. She has been a Lorain resident since 1994.
She was a member of St. Maron Maronite Catholic Church in Cleveland, and enjoyed cooking.
Survivors include a son, Mounir Sheety of Queens, New York, three daughters, Hanan Jahshan of Beirut, Lebanon, Jamileh Harris of Palmyra, Tennessee., and Souheila Rizk of Lorain, 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Andreos Sheety, in 1996, and a son, Hanna, in 1990.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave. Lorain, where services will be Wednesday morning at 9:20 a.m. followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, Rev. Father William Thaden, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
