Freda A. Whitaker (nee Roe), 74, of Wellington, died Monday, December 8, 2003 in New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after a lengthy illness.She was born May 6, 1929 in Washington, Pennsylvania. She was a Wellington resident for the past three years, moving from Vermilion.
She worked as a secretary for Consolidated management in Lorain retiring in 1995 after 19 years of service.
She was a member of The Seventh Day Aventist Church. She enjoyed reading, shopping, bingo, and her family.
She is survived by her five sons, Raymond Stahl of Vermilion, Ross L. Stahl of Somerset, KY, Aaron R. Stahl, of Wellington, Ronald E. Stahl of Oberlin, and David N. Stahl of Wellington, one daughter, Kathryn L. McConnell of Wellington, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, sister Ramona Jean Strawn of Washington, PA, brother Richard Roe of Washington, PA and several great aunts.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Ross E. Stahl, Sr., in 1965, her second husband, Harry B. Whitaker in 1995, son Ross E. Stahl, Jr., in 1947, sisters Lucille Hayes, and Garnett Woolridge, brothers, Frederick Roe, Eddie Roe, and Willard Roe, granddaughter, Stacey Lynn Stahl in 1974 and her parents Fred and Garnet (nee McKinney) Roe.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 11, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home, Friday, December 12, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Ken Gerhart, pastor of Pittsfield Community Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
