Margaret Schremp, 83, Enjoyed reading, and word puzzles

Margaret Schremp (nee Ferencz), age 83, of Sheffield Township, died Tuesday, December 9, 2003, at her residence following a brief illness.

She was born July 31, 1920 in Lorain, OH and had been a lifelong resident.

Margaret was a 1938 graduate of Clearview High School and had been employed by that school system for many years in cafeteria services at the high school and Durling Elementary School.

A parishioner of Saint Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Lorain, she was a member of Greek Catholic Union Lodge #125, the Ohio Public Schools Retirees Organization, and the American Association of Retired Persons. She was a devout reader who had a special interest in the areas of fiction, non-fiction, and biographies. Additional hobbies included all forms of word puzzles and brainteasers.

Margaret is survived by her daughters: Cynthia A. Moeller of Lorain, and Pamela S. Schremp of Concord Township; 5 grandchildren; one great granddaughter; a brother: Robert Ferencz of Elyria; and sisters: Ann Domrowski of Avon Lake, Irene Kacsandi of Avon, and Ethel Bozik of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, in 1971; a son: Timothy in 1989; and by her parents: John and Anna (nee Holinda) Ferencz.

Funeral services for the family were conducted Friday in Saint Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church with the Reverend Nicholas Rachford, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial followed in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.

The family suggests memorials in Mrs. Schremp’s name to either St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church; 2711 West 40th Street, Lorain, OH 44053 or to the New Life Hospice; 5255 North Abbe Road, Elyria, OH 44035.
