James F. Wells, 71, U.S. Navy Veteran

He was born November 30, 1932 in Boston, MA. He has been a Vermilion resident for the past 2 years, moving from Chesapeake, Virginia.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving for 20 years during the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts. After retiring from the Navy, he worked as a mechanic for the Naval Ship Yard in Portsmouth, MA. He was a member of the Vermilion VFW Post 7576. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, and was an avid fisherman.

James is survived by his wife of 4 years, Ruby Nell (nee Green) of Vermilion; 2 daughters: Deborah Fabich of Winthrop, MA, and Barbara Trask of Lynn, MA; 2 granddaughters; and 1 great grandchild.

Mr. Wells was preceded in death by his parents: Arthur S. and Edna R. (nee Irwin) Wells.

A memorial service will be held in Chesapeake, VA, at a later date.
