Helen K. Rottari, 85, Avid bingo player
Helen K. Rottari (nee Hunyad), age 85, of Lorain, died Friday, December 12, 2003 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home following an extended illness.Mrs. Rottari was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 14, 1918 and had been a resident of Lorain for most of her life.
She was formerly employed as a machine operator for Western Automatic of Elyria (predecessor to the Stanadyne Corporation). A parishioner of Saint Vitus Croatian Catholic Church, she was an avid bingo player.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law: Pauline and Archie Blevins of Lorain, her son and daughter-in-law, Don M. and Sandra Rottari of Wakeman, grandchildren, Melissa Starkey, Amy Rottari, and Tony Rottari, and great grandchildren, Jaira and Rion Starkey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan J. Rottari in 1993, by her parents, Matthew and Catherine (nee Gabin) Hunyad, brothers John and Matthew Hunyad and by sisters Mary Pavlich and Anna Kompare.
Visitation will be Monday, December 15, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Lorain. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Reverend Simon Nekic, pastor of Saint Vitus Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
