Mary Deliman, 89, Hobbies included sewing and embroidery
Mary Deliman (nee Mrosko), age 89, of Lorain, died Sunday, December 14, 2003 at the Good Samaritan Skilled Care Center in Avon, Ohio, following an extended illness.
She was born August 26, 1914 in Wilpen, Pennsylvania and had been a resident of Lorain County since 1924.
An assembler for the former Mascon Toy Company of Lorain, she retired following twenty years of service with the company. She had previously been employed in the same capacity for the Steel Stamping Company also of Lorain.
A parishioner of Saint Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Lorain, she was a member of church’s Altar and Rosary Society as well as a member of the Greek Catholic Union Lodge #125. Her hobbies included sewing and embroidery.
Survivors include her daughters: Mary Lou Kamnikar of Amherst and Anna Mae Zichi of Lorain, and son John A. Deliman of Lorain, eleven grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband John in 1985, by her parents Stephen and Anna (nee Shrilla) Mrosko, and by brothers John, Steve, Michael, and Joseph.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain, where a Parastas service will be observed at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 18, 2003 beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by a Divine Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church, 2711 West 40th Street, Lorain. The Reverend Nicholas Rachford, pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
The family suggests memorials in Mrs. Deliman’s memory to the St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church Building Fund or a charity of the donor’s choice.
