Rhonda Moore, 66, Songwriter and loved crocheting
Rhonda Moore (nee Miller), 66 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Sunday morning, December 14, 2003 at Elyria Memorial Hospital ICU following a brief illness.She was born April 30, 1937 in Barbourville, KY. Where she was raised and lived until moving to South Amherst, Ohio in 1954. She moved back to KY later in life and lived there for twenty years before returning to Ohio to live in Amherst in 1997.
Rhonda worked as a nurse's aid for several home health care and nursing homes centers for over forty-three years. She was a member of the Free Pentecostal Church of God of Amherst where she was active as a worship leader and musician and member of the ladies church choir. She was a songwriter, loved crocheting and was active in caring for her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Willard L. Moore to whom she was married twenty eight years; sons, Larry of Lorain and Richard of Amherst; daughters Brenda Balas of Brownhelm, Carolyn Moury of Amherst and Sharon Fife of Wellington; thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren; brothers, James and Ernest Miller of KY. Other survivors include sisters, Mary Buchanan of KY and Cora Hickman of NJ. She was preceded in death by granddaughter Amanda Patterson and grandson, Carl Moury; by parents William M. and Bessie (nee Miracle) Miller and by five brothers and sisters.
Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hemple Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. Larry Thomas, pastor of the Free Pentecostal Church of God of Amherst, will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
