Kenneth G. Symons, 63, Avid reader of the Bible

Kenneth G. Symons, 63, of Vermilion, died Sunday, December 15, 2003 at his residence following a sudden illness.

Born November 8, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan, he lived in La Port, Indiana before settling in the Lorain area over 30 years ago.

He worked as a machinist assistant for Moen, Inc., for 12 years, retiring in the early 1970’s. He was an avid reader of the Bible, and enjoyed music, sports, and fishing.

Surviving him is his wife of 18 years, Delores (nee Krutch); sons: Kenneth Symons, Jr., of Kansas City, Kansas, and Michael Symons of Sioux City, Iowa; step-sons: Art Dailey of Lorain, and George Grey of Vermilion; daughter: Kimberly Symons; and step-daughter: Jacki Grey, of Vermilion; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brothers: Larry of Strongsville, Ohio, and Donald Jr., of Sterling Heights, MI.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Symons Sr., in 1989, his mother, Eleanor L. (nee Menke) Symons, in 1993, and a brother: Edward Symons in 2001.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home; 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where funeral services will be Friday, at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Guy Morton, pastor of Lakeview Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
